When visionary women gather, extraordinary things happen.
This November, Black Girl Ventures brought this truth to life with Alive in Austin—a two-day celebration of connection, recognition, and empowerment that lit up the entrepreneurial community in Austin.
This wasn’t just an event series—it was a testament to the boundless potential of collaboration.
The energy was electric as attendees connected, shared their journeys, and inspired one another to continue growing and thriving.
From heartfelt conversations to moments of celebration, Alive in Austin highlighted the incredible strength and resilience of a united network.
Day 1: BGV in Your City Mixer
We kicked off Alive in Austin with the BGV in Your City Mixer, a vibrant networking event that welcomed Austin’s underrepresented women-identifying founders.
The goal was simple yet impactful: creating a space where meaningful connections could flourish, exchanging resources, and relationships could form.
Founders left the mixer with new ideas, partnerships, and a stronger sense of belonging to a supportive and growing community.
This wasn’t just a mixer—it was the spark for future collaborations and a reminder that the entrepreneurial journey is stronger when walked together.
Day 2: HighlightHer Brunch
The second day of Alive in Austin was dedicated to celebration and recognition with the HighlightHer Brunch, an elegant gathering of ELF Alumni, high-level partners, and BGV staff.
A highlight of the brunch was the recognition of five outstanding Austin ELF Alumni for their remarkable contributions to their city.
The honorees are Camara Samuel of Wadadli Naturals, Dr. Oluwadamilola Adeyeye of Socialite PT PLLC, Dr. Sharita Ambrose of Random Black Girls, and Tamisha Brewer of Black Girl Think Tank and Lamanda Ballard of Flo Code.
These trailblazers exemplify Black Girl Ventures' mission and values through their resilience, innovation, and leadership.
Their stories served as powerful reminders of the impact women entrepreneurs can achieve when supported by their community.
The HighlightHer Brunch was more than a celebration of individual success—it was a call to action for all of us to continue building spaces where underrepresented entrepreneurs can access resources, connect with allies, and thrive.
Looking Ahead: Building Capital, Capacity, and Community in 2025
As we reflect on Alive in Austin, we’re grateful to everyone who joined us and made this event unforgettable.
With so many attendees and countless meaningful connections made, we proved that incredible things happen when women entrepreneurs come together.
The stories shared, the resources exchanged, and the recognition given are all stepping stones toward a brighter future—not just for Austin’s founders but for underrepresented entrepreneurs nationwide.
This event has helped us create a ripple effect of empowerment and opportunity.
Together, we’ll continue driving change, creating opportunities, and uplifting the incredible women shaping our world.
